Apple Picking Outside of Seoul, Korea - Pocheon Boss Apple Farm

On a chilly October Wednesday, I took the bus out of Seoul and into Pocheon to visit Boss Apple Farm (사과깡패) and pick mini apples! It was about 2 hours by bus and was quite a treacherous journey - if you’re coming with kids or you don’t want to jump a barrier in the middle of a highway, I recommend going by car or finding a taxi somehow.

I did manage to make it in one piece though and was a bit early for my 11:10am reservation. You can reserve times on their website with a Naver account, but it seemed that it wasn’t really necessary and most people just walked in the day of :)

This was most definitely designed for little kids, but I still had fun! You have to buy a packaged deal (20,000won for one, 39,000won for two people) and it includes activities like making “apple pie,” picking apples, feeding goats, and, for the little kids, going on the trampolines.

I started with a mini apple pie, made with Boss Apple Farm’s jam!

Honestly, it was pretty tasty for just dough and jam! I then headed up to the mini apple orchard where we were shown how to best pick the apples and then were set free to pick as we please. I never felt any sort of time restraints and the orchard was so big that I felt like I had the place to myself.

After that, I fed the goats and was gifted a package of fresh apple juice because I wasn’t able to do the other kid activities. The juice was phenomenal by the way :)

Like I said, this is aimed at kids but I think with the right people it could be a really fun day. You can check out their open times for reservations here on their site. Unfortunately, they’re done with picking this year, but be ready in mid September to the end of October of next year!!!
